How do I know if I have asbestos?
You can't tell by looking — it has to be tested. The safe rule for older homes is to assume suspect materials may contain asbestos and not disturb them until they're assessed. We can guide testing and handle removal if it's present.
Is it safe to leave asbestos in place?
Often, yes — undisturbed, intact asbestos is generally not a hazard. The danger is when it's damaged, deteriorating, or about to be disturbed by renovation, water, or fire. That's when abatement matters.
